Four inches of rain fell here in Central Texas over the last two days, and the rivers are finally flowing again! Woohoo!
So today we took Sadie, our dog back to the North San Gabriel River in Georgetown, to check out how full the river was. We were not disappointing! (These pics were taken with my phone camera so excuse the quality.)
The river was full and flowing rapidly,…….
and the vegetation was green and revived.
There were even a couple of little fairy pools open for the season.
A lovely sight to see.
Last month when we visited this river it was painfully dry. So dry in fact that we actually found some Dinosaur tracks in the river bed. How cool is that??

Today however, the river looked gloriously different, and although the dinosaur tracks were now covered in many inches in muddy water, it made for happy canine frolicking in the shallow rapids!
At first Sadie was a little cautious……. 
carefully scrutinizing the water, making sure nothing scary was going to grab her.
But when she finally decided no danger lurked beneath the muddy waters, she was off! Racing through the water like a berserk bear hunting for salmon.
Running onshore just to splash us….
and then dashing back in again.
And to think 3 months ago this dog wouldn’t even get into a tub to be washed….barely could stand her drinking bowl.
After an exhausted swim session we took the soggy dog back home for a much needed bath! Oh the mud that came out of that mutt.
After a vigorous towel dry… and romp on her mat…..
Exhaustion set in…..
and off to dog dream land she went. Ah what a wonderful day it was.
What a nice well-laid out and well written story! Just love the pictures and the contents! By the way, there are some of the same dino tracks just off 183 at South San GabrielRiver. If you’re ever interested I can show you a map of how to get there, since about allthe surroundings are private property. I have never heard of them till I started looking for that Austin train crossing. It looks like you have done some amazing care and love withSadie! She is simply adorable! She obviously had a great workout and appears totally zonked at the end! Ha! Look at that face!!

I’ve been to the south San Gabriel River tracks and they are even better. Yes Sadie is adorable and finds small reason every day for us to spoil her. Thanks as always for your wonderful comments.
