Gotta love their eyes! And they are so curious, sometimes they will actually jump onto a camera lens. They seem to show no fear! The first time I photographed one I put it in a jar and placed it in the refrigerator (not freezer!) for about 30 minutes. It slowed him down considerably, initially, but a few moments in the sun and he was right back in action again. Have you heard that spiders legs are activated by tiny tendons to retract their legs and use hydraulics (blood pressure) to extend them. Hence the term “death curl” when you see a dead spider with the legs drawn towards it by the tiny tendons. Such amazing li’l creatures! Nice shots, Heike!!
